DEATH TO POETS
This just in - a good reason to contemplate setting aside that novel in progress ...
Poets die sooner than playwrights. Playwrights die sooner than novelists. And novelists die sooner than nonfiction writers, according to a study by James C. Kaufman, PhD, of California State University. The study appears in the November issue of Death Studies.

Actually, a bit of a reason to put aside the poetry, no?

True enough but we here at TEV haven't attempted to write poetry since wooing Maria Burgenstein in the third grade. We're focusing on the novel side of things these days (which doesn't have a much rosier outlook by your reckoning), as are most of our acquaintances. Hence the focus. But we're pleased and flattered that the author of the study stopped by!
