Ed offers up a statement of purpose, and it's already having a ripple effect. As for ourselves, we're pleased with Ed's kind mention, and we're thinking of ways to respond to his clarion call. We've toyed with doing more reviews, and Laila's latest posting on this subject has re-energized us.
The vision of what literary blogs can be and can do is still evolving, and the thread that unites all these ideas - from Ed's to Laila's to Dan's - is a dissatisfaction with the state of literary affairs and a feeling (however nascent and amorphous) that blogs can offer a powerful alternative vision.
OK, we're sold. Now, to quote Robert Redford in The Candidate, "What do we do now?"
Hey Mark,
I already said this in a comment on Dan's blog, but if you're mapping out cause and effect, it seems like Laila's post might have prompted Ed's. I mean, I think everyone was already thinking about these issues, but Laila tipped that first domino.

Natalie's quite correct. I lost track of that one; I think I was responding to Ed's challenge to the rest of us, but you're right on this.
