Reading to my Kid adds a new wrinkle to the world of literary blogs.
The literary adventures of E (a parent) and Tulip (a child, born in early 2002). The weblog is an exploration of the issues involved in children's literature and reading to a child, which seems to me both political and emotional. It's intended for parents, publishers, authors, critics, and anyone interested in books for young readers. In addition to being a parent, I'm a writer for both adults and children.
The blog appears relatively new but already has won me over with its mention of TEV childhood favorite (yes, I had a childhood; don't ask) Blueberries for Sal. It seems thoughtful and heartfelt, and even non-parents will probably get a nostalgic charge revisitng their own treasured faves.
We heartily approve of anyone bringing new readers into the world ...
