Another nice look at literary blogs, this one from the Telegraph, hitting most of the familar marks and checking in with the usual worthies:
The New York-based litblogger Maud Newton (maudnewton.com) hosts one of the most widely-read blogs. A former lawyer and self-described "obsessive", Newton started her blog in 2002 and counts among her readers such hip novelists as Jonathan Lethem, Z Z Packer and Jonathan Ames. Her site is an engaging mélange of links, news, personal stories, event listings and quirky scraps of literary trivia and gossip. One recent posting noted that the late Susan Sontag had contributed song lyrics to the über-cool electroclash band Fischerspooner's latest album. In another posting, Newton reflected on the apparent demand for "My Other Car is a Thomas Pynchon Novel" bumper stickers.
There are some odd choices to be sure - we remain surprised at how much attention the sporadically updated Literary Dick gets ... Maybe he knows something we don't.
