In honor of Black History Month, and to commemorate the passing of Antioch alum Coretta Scott King, poets Kamau Daaood and Shari Randolph will read on the campus of Antioch University Los Angeles at 400 Corporate Pointe in Culver City, this Thursday, February 16, at 7:00 p.m. This event, part of AULA's 2006 L.A. Writers Series, is free and open to the public. Parking is $5.20 with validation. A wine and cheese reception will precede the reading.
Spoken word artist and Antioch L.A. alum Shari Randolph will present a special tribute to Coretta Scott King, who was a graduate of Antioch College in Yellow Springs, Ohio. Shari will be followed by poet Kamau Daaood, Artistic Director of the World Stage Performance Gallery. Daaood's recent book, The Language of Saxophones, was a finalist for the Southern California Book Award.
