"That's what I want to do, and I feel the same way now, that what we really want is not what we're being offered in the entertainment industry. It's something different. You can be offered mystery and romance in very legitimate ways, in profound ways, and have it without the cheap car chases and garish violence that they keep throwing in our faces. Who wants it? I've been sort of exploring that all my life, trying to get to what I think is really important.
"I would like to write books within the Judeo-Christian framework that are every bit as exciting as anything I've ever written in the past that was thought to be exciting," she says.
