If you haven't found it yet, do check out Brother Robert's interview with Nathan Englander, in which the two discuss "the Dirty War, the Mothers o f the Plaza de Mayo, Argentina, more about Argentina, why he wrote this book, why it took almost ten years to write, A.B. Yehoshua, the School of the Americas and whether Ministry of Special Cases is a Jewish novel and more—much more."
I always enjoy Birnbaum's interviews but there's a major fact check problem in the Englander interviewing: confusing Isabel Perón with Eva Perón.
I'm just hoping that it was Birnbaum who made that mistake in writing up the interview and not Englander since it shows a tremendous lack of knowledge about Argentine history.
A minor fact problem in the interview is that statement by Englander that the Madres de Plaza de Mayo have been marching in protest for 25 years. In actuality, it has been 30 years. Easy to overlook except for the fact that the Madres have made a huge point out of celebrating their 30th year of protest this year.
