Back in 2004 when TEV was merely months old, we ran our first proper interview, an email Q&A we conducted with Dan Rhodes, whose Timoleon Vieta Come Home we quite enjoyed. (Dear Lord that seems ages ago.) We've been following his career ever since and, like many others, were pleased to learn about his new novel Gold, which officially hits stores this week. We're going to give away a copy but first, through a special arrangement with Canongate, we are very pleased, indeed, to offer you an excerpt from the novel so you can actually see what you're trying to win.
You can read the excerpt, in RTF format, by clicking on this link. If you've never read Rhodes, don't miss this chance.
Rhodes was born in 1972. He is the author of Don't Tell Me the Truth About Love and Timoleon Vieta Come Home, also published by Canongate. In 2003 he was named by Granta magazine as one of their twenty Best of Young British Novelists.
Now, assuming you've read it and are eager to see the rest of the book, you know what you need to do. Drop us an email, subject line "THE RHODES LESS TRAVELED." Include your full mailing address or we'll point at you and laugh. Previous winners ineligible. We'll hit the Random Number Generator no later than 3:30 PST and pick a winner for this very special giveaway.
UPDATE: Congratulations to Khalid Kurhi of Baltimore, MD. Have a great weekend.
