Home again, briefly, but heading right back out to give a talk at Vassar. (Probably the only time our name will ever appear in a headline next to James Wood's.) The plan is to update along the way, and finally recap the Roth review, but you know how things go with plans. Still, we're aiming high.
In the meantime, do check out this achingly amateur home video we made of the historic library at the Ambassade Hotel in Amsterdam, where ... well, you have to see this for yourself. (Stand by for a bit - we just uploaded the sucker.)
One time, we couldn't find a place nearby, so my friends picked up a Deucheveaux and moved it to make room. Nice place though--thanks so much for posting this!

Exceedingly cool! Thanks for the little tour.

Hey Mark,
I stayed at the Ambassade last year and it was one of the coolest places I have ever slept, with its small, yet lavishly decorated rooms. And that breakfast! The best part, of course was its location, right in the heart of the historic city. Lucky you to go there on book tour and add your name to the list of illustrious writers.

Nice idea—beats pinning blurred photographs to the wall.
