Somehow, I nearly missed that The Elegant Variation turns five today. (It took a congratulatory email from a friend and reader to remind me.)
So, 5,180 posts, 7,708 comments and millions of visits later, why do I keep doing this?
For you, dear TEV reader. Thank you for the years of support and stimulation. I look forward to stumbling my way through the next five.
I'm new to the site, but I love it. Keep up the good work.
Congratulations!

According to my maths, that's an average of 2.83 posts per day. Happy birthday from Australia!

You should do like Google and, in honor of your birthday, post your first blog entries again. And maybe the original, as I recall, white background. C'mon. For the OGs like me who remember your infancy fondly...

Blimey, five years. Well done, Mark. Have a very happy blogiversary.
I should share, too, that I was asked to speak at our state library last night on blogging and reader recommendations - once more, thanks to the excellent model you provided here. Rock on.

Congratulations! You're really brave and far from stupid. Thanks for having such great taste in books.
