A dose of unpretentious fresh air from Art Spiegelman:
“I’m called the father of the modern graphic novel. If that’s true, I want a blood test,” the Economist reports that he said. “ ‘Graphic novel’ sounds more respectable, but I prefer ‘comics’ because it credits the medium. [‘Comics’] is a dumb word, but that’s what they are.”
Was there a graphic novel before the "modern" graphic novel? A "classic" graphic novel? Will there be a "post-modern" graphic novel?

Alan Moore once said,in that lovely accent of his, "Graphic novel is a PR Term" (But then, he also said he preferred the term "pornography" for his graphic novel "Lost Girls" ; instead of "erotica" )
