The gang over at blogs.com ("the best in blogs") asked us to come up with a top ten list pertaining to book blogs, and we decided there were enough generic "top ten book blogs" lists out there already that tend to focus on the usual names. So we offered up a list of "Top 10 Really, Really Smart Literary Blogs" - the gallopingly unscientfic criterion for admission being that these are blogs about which we routinely find ourselves thinking, "That is one really, really smart writer." Curious? You can check it out here.
Thanks so much for including me on your list, Mark. I'm honored.

Love the nod to Letterman in the title.
Athitakis- Checked out your blog today for the first time after reading Mark's list. Good stuff.

Looks good, Mark, except I think they're linking to the wrong Harpers blog -- not to Wyatt Mason's Sentences (which is a great blog).

nod to letterman. hahahah, speaking as a child of wahoo, it always cracks me up to ever see it referenced. I'm now a bookstore owner in Delaware.

Jacob, I clicked through and it looks right. The previews appear wrong, but the link itself took me to Sentences.

Hi Mark,
One of the bloggers in your list, D.G. Myers, said this: "If [Patrick] Kurp is not the dean he is the best of us book bloggers."
He's referring to Patrick Kurp's Anecdotal Evidence.
I mention this just in the off chance you're not familiar with Patrick's blog.
Regards,
Dave

Ah, my mistake. Maybe they fixed it or I was just hallucinating.

Uh, seems to be an error in the list. My blog was not mentioned. When can I expect to see an apology/update?

Tod, "Maud Newton" is OBVIOUSLY a typo for "Tod Goldberg" ...

If this list is limited, as it seems to be limited, to US blogs, then "The Existence Machine" has to be included. It has the added advantage over at least two of the blogs on the list of not confusing bookchat with critical attention.
