Philip Roth sits down with Tina Brown for a rare series of video interviews, in which he discusses the new novel, The Humbling, writing about sex, and other topics. (We share Roth's approval of Tina Brown's useful designation, the "vomit draft".)

Educated imagination. I like that.

Good to see that the man is still sharp (though I suppose that should be obvious from his output).
On another note, I was personally comforted to hear that he's interested again in delving into longer, more substantial works. His short novels may be models of the form, but there's nothing, to my mind, like cracking open an "American Pastoral" and becoming immersed, for a while, in an entire world created by our best storyteller.

Watching this I realized that after decades of reading Roth I had never heard his living voice. A wonderful rare glimpse. Thanks, Mark (and Daily Beast).
