In his recent TEV guest review of Home Land, Jim Ruland called Sam Lipsyte the "funniest writer of his generation," and we're quite inclined to agree. We tore through Home Land in two joyful sittings and can't remember the last time we've laughed so hard. Lipsyte's constellation of oddly sympathetic losers is rendered with a sparkling, inspired prose style that's sent us off in search of all his prior work. In Lewis Miner's (a.k.a Teabag) woeful epistolary dispatches to his high school alumni newsletter ("I did not pan out."), we find an anti-hero for the age. Highly, highly recommended.
Is that Tom Waits' Voice? What's he writing in there?

Best Waits video I've seen since Goin' Out West.

Well, that puts a whole new unintended light on the topic at hand. I apologize for my error.
Regardeless, the post and accompanying media still comprise a: Fuckin' Brilliant Post
Cheers, my friend.

We need endless distractions on this Labor Day when so many can only wish they were laboring (or not getting paid half what they used to get)!
This Labor Day is Christmas for the giant corporations....

This is really cool, but instead of waits--they need to shove Lady Gaga in there for...i don't know an eternity or two.

I suppose "post-Labor Day" is rather open-ended.

Whatever it is is taking too long.

Is there an end-date to this J. D. Sallinger phase of yours? Are you undergoing sex reassignment surgery? What? Come back little Sheba...
